Monegasque real estate edition Monaco-Matin: Florian Valeri interview

Florian Valeri, in a few words, who are you?

I am a Monegasque entrepreneur who studied at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Paris and worked in several countries, until I returned to Monaco in 2016 to expressly found Valeri Agency.

Since then, the agency has continued to develop in all real estate aspects in the Principality. It is in this continuity that I opened in 2019 an agency in Cap d'Ail, operating in the neighbouring cities.

Hyperactive and committed, I have always been involved in the economic and associative life of the Principality.

What qualities are needed to work as a property agent?

This profession certainly requires commercial qualities but also technical, legal, financial, and administrative skills. It is of course necessary to have a strong knowledge of the market and, at the same time, to build up a network of clients and ensure follow-up the relationship initiated with each of them.

Availability and responsiveness are also essential. You must devote yourself 100% to your clients, who expect their broker to provide a service and expertise that goes far beyond real estate.

So, it's a more complex job than it seems?

Indeed, it is not enough just to "open doors", organise visits or send property selections. It is essential to understand the client's psychology and aspirations, which implies an important capacity to listen and communicate.

Real estate agents have a real duty of advice and must adapt to a diversified and demanding international clientele.

Considering the large number of estate agencies in Monaco, how do you stand out?

With approximately 150 agencies, the real estate sector in Monaco is particularly competitive.

Our team of 12 experienced and multidisciplinary collaborators allows us to ensure a rigorous follow-up of the files. In addition, the team, with its in-depth knowledge of all real estate areas, is able to offer our clients very qualitative support at each stage of their project, in Monaco as well as in France. Finally, we offer our clients access to our extensive network of professionals.

How do you see the Monegasque property market developing in the next few years?

I remain very confident about its future. Offer is still limited while demand is very strong, notably due to the growth of the HNWI population, which is even faster than the increase in Monegasque property prices.

Monaco is also bringing itself up to international standards with the gradual renewal of its housing stock, which is being modernised and significantly improved in terms of standing and services.

The Principality has no equivalent in Europe for many reasons.
