Subsidy for the renovation of commercial premises

As part of the economic recovery plan, the Prince's Government implemented various support measures to assist companies and individuals towards their energy transition. One of these measures concerns the assistance for the renovation of commercial premises, sustained by the Department of Forward Studies, Urban Planning and Mobility (“DPUM”).

A subsidy may be allocated to the first 100 shopkeepers established in the Principality who request it for the purpose of embellishing or renovating their premises, shop fronts, signs and sunshades. It can be awarded not only to businesses currently open to the public but also to those which are vacant so as to restore their commercial use.

To benefit from this subsidy, an application form, which can be obtained from the DPUM, must be filled in, and then submitted, together with the documents required according to the nature of the work (whether or not they are subjected to a building permit application or already authorised but not started yet).

According to the file, the DPUM will give its agreement if the conditions are fulfilled and will specify the amount of its participation, up to 20% of the total cost of the work, including all taxes, and capped at €10,000.

The State will then pay this amount directly to the company on the basis of an invoice and after completion of the work carried out before June 30th, 2021 by a company located in Monaco.
